Join Julia Bomalaski, artist behind The 59th Street Gems, and discover the craft of hand-sewn bookbinding in this beginner-friendly workshop. Participants will learn the pamphlet stitch to create handmade notebooks using repurposed postcards and cardstock for the covers. Join us and learn how to turn simple materials into beautiful handmade books.
Julia studied printmaking at Florida State University where she discovered the wonderful world of bookbinding through a Book Structures course. She’s a mom of twins, an avid thimble collector, and enjoys all things creative/crafty!
Preregistration is required in order to participate.
Ages 10+ (Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.)
